Liebster Award

I was recently nominated for the Liebster Award by Isis Warner who runs the Marsa Alam Desert Retreat. Which is a lovely blog about a retreat in the Egyptian desert!

So, these awards work like those chain emails you used to get, you get nominated and then you nominate some more people. You’re supposed to answer questions about yourself and talk about why you started your blog, but I’m not super keen on doing that so I’ll keep it brief.

I started my blog as a kind of spur of the moment thing in one of my bouts of trying-to-be-productive exam procrastination (other forms include procrasta-cooking and procrasta-cleaning). I wanted to blog about just what I get up to and I thought it would look good on my CV if I had a blog. There are a small amount of hireable qualities needed to run a blog. And, aside from that, a blog would allow me to pontificate about all my environmental nonsense and get it out of my system (but I actually think my blog has achieved the opposite and I now talk about this stuff a lot more).

I wasn’t aware of all the benefits I would gain from blogging – like increased self confidence and getting to connect with people all over the world. Blogging is as much about the people you connect with as it as about the stuff you write. Which is where things like these awards come in. People nominate other bloggers that they enjoy and think are doing a fab job. The award itself is more of an acknowledgement than anything else, but it sure feels nice!

My Nominees Are:

Diary Of A Young Conservationist

Emma is a good friend of mine that I met when I was living in Australia. She blogs about all of the cool Ecology stuff she gets to do (it’s very cool). She really is living her best science life. Go check her out!

Define Earth

Jess was one of the first blogs I followed when I started my blog. Her blog is super interesting and full of eco-gems. If you like my blog, you’ll love hers.

2018: Year of Living Sustainability

Cathie and her husband, Etienne, are living sustainably for a year in rural Australia. Her blog is such an inspiration for anyone who is interested in having a minimal impact on their environment. Please read this lovely blog!

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my posts – I appreciate you more than you know!
